Crazy…but what else is new?
Okay. I’m going to actually start this week’s post by going back to last Saturday. Last Saturday Matt headed off to Woodbury to work on his car and I stayed home to do some touch up painting in our bedroom. While painting, my cell phone rang and it was Angie Gambill. She wanted to know if I could come assist her with a bridal shoot and an engagement session. So, of course, I jumped at the chance and, although I didn’t take pictures this time, I really did enjoy myself. I really feel like, given the chance, I will learn quite a bit from Angie. Her work is fantastic! (Hopefully the pictures from those two shoots will be on Angie’s blog soon).
Anyway, finals were this week. I probably could have done more studying than I did, but feel pretty good about the outcome of both. The greatest thing is that they are both over and I am officially on Summer break! By the way, I ended up making A’s in both classes! Yippee!
On top of photo shoots, cooking, laundry and finals, my days at work have been filled with CHAOS! I will be moving from the Human Resources Assistant role at State Farm to the Medical Assistant role at State Farm on Monday, May 7. So this past week was a week filled with cleaning out my desk, clearing out as much work as possible, and meetings, meetings, meetings… On Tuesday I had a meeting at 8:00 a.m. one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday I had a meeting at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday they threw my “goodbye” lunch at 11:15 a.m., and on Friday at 10:00 a.m. we celebrated one of the HR Representative’s 10 year anniversary with the company. I ended up staying at work until about 6:45 p.m. last night trying to get everything done before I left HR. I am exhausted and definitely ready for the change of department.
On a good note…I got GREAT news this week! One of my best friends in the whole world, Sarah Beth, who is graduating from Murray State with her B.S.N., is moving to Nashville! She left me a voice mail at work this week to tell me she was moving and I can’t get her to call me back so I’m not sure what the situation is. I know she had an interview with Vanderbilt University Hospital a couple of weeks ago, so that is probably it. I am so excited that after 4 long years we will be close to each other once again! More details to come when I hear back from her!
Well…I guess that’s it for now. Oh! One more thing…Matt has an audit to do for work in June and guess where it is going to be? ALASKA! We booked our flight yesterday so it is really happening!!! More to come on the Alaska trip later.
