life in the fast lane…
WELLLLLL…..okay. Today was my third day in the Employee Health Services (EHS) department at work. I had one emergency to deal with first thing this morning and then one this afternoon right before I left to come home. By emergency, I’m referring to people getting sick and needing medical attention (not the copy machine getting a paper jam or the printer malfunctioning–although I deal with those emergencies as well). I don’t actually assist with patient care, but am in charge of dialing 911 or contacting the emergency contact if there is a need. It is definitely a good adrenaline rush. When I wasn’t dealing with sick people, I was working on brochures for the health fair we have coming up on May 17. I got to show off my computer skills, such as they are, to my new supervisor, which was definitely nice. I love my new job and my new department!
Matt and I were able to get some more boxes unpacked this weekend (YEAH!) I was up until 11:30 p.m. on Monday night painting the bedroom because our bedroom furniture arrived yesterday! It looks really good in our room. Now all I have to do is unpack all my clothes and I will clear out a ton of stuff.
This Friday night my mom, sister and I are going to be staying at the Opryland Hotel and shopping and getting pedicures and eating Chinese food. It will be wonderful! I will be sure to post the pictures when I get home.
Well…I guess that is all for now. Oh yeah! I finally talked to Sarah Beth and, starting June 4, she will be working in the Neuro Step-down unit of Vanderbilt University Hospital. I am very excited to have her this close again.
More to come later on…
