little things
Matt and I went shopping this past weekend. While in the dressing room, I overheard the following conversation between a mom and her son.
Son walks in grumbling.
Mom: “I told you that you were going to have to try on clothes today”
Son: “You mean I have to take my pants off?”Â
A few minutes of silence.
Mom: “How do those feel?”
Son: “I don’t like the tag. It is sticking me.”
Mom: “The tag won’t be there when we get home. How do they feel?”
Son: “I just don’t like the way the tag thing looks.”
Mom: “I told you, it won’t be there if we take them home. We’ll take the tag off.”
Son: “I know we’ll take it off if we take them home, I just don’t like it now.”
I’m not sure who ended up winning…Mom or Son. I left after that…trying not to laugh. Matt said he used to be just like the boy. Big surprise. I guess boys start early when they make up their minds they don’t like to shop. My favorite part was, “You mean I have to take my pants off?” Like he could try clothes on without doing so? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I love kids. They add entertainment to life.
