Happy Fall to All!

Posted in About Nothing...,Everyday life... by Lauren on the October 9th, 2007

Fall is my very favorite time of the year. I love the way the slightly cool air hits you in the face when you walk out your door in the mornings. I like to watch the trees change to hues of red, orange and yellow. The peacefulness that comes from the sound of animals storing food and settling in for a long winter, of leaves rusting to the ground, comforts me and simply reminds me of God’s gentle hand. October is a wonderful month for me and Matt. Both of our birthday’s are in October as well as our anniversary. We are leaving on vacation this Thursday as my school will be on fall break. It will be nice to spend time together doing whatever we want to do without the worries of everyday life crowding in. So far this fall, Matt and I have had the opportunity to accompany his brother-in-law and sister as they took our nephew, Ty, to the pumpkin patch for the first time. His little hands were adorable as they picked a tiny pumpkin from the patch. Perhaps my favorite memory of this fall so far is the one of Ty singing “Happy Birthday” to his Uncle Matt. It was such a sweet moment and such a sweet voice. There are so many priceless moments in life and I have learned to cherish everyone I get to be a part of. Happy Fall to All! May these gentle days bring you much joy.

Do I realize how long it has been?

Yes. I do realize how long it has been since I last wrote a post for my blog. Last night, my husband so kindly reminded me that I was behind on my blog posts. I had thought about writing, but I have been a busy woman and really haven’t had anything to write. Sad, I know.

Well, school started back this week. I will attend a literature class on Tuesdays and Thursdays after I get off work until the semester ends in December. I think it will definitely be an interesting adventure. English/Literature professors always have some of the most unique classes. Also this semester, I plan on taking the CLEP test in order to receive credit for the last two history classes on my pre-requisite list. Then–GOOD NEWS–I am done with my pre-requisites and can finally focus on my photography classes. Speaking of photography, my wonderful husband just bought me a camera lens to go with my Nikon D80 camera body that I have finally saved enough money for and plan to buy when I get back from my family reunion this weekend. I will give you a more in depth review of the camera and lens once I get it and start shooting with it on a regular basis. Speaking of the family reunion…yes I will be at a family reunion this weekend…enjoying the company of my grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins that I haven’t seen since my wedding last October (if you have had the experience of being a bride you know that “seeing” them was about all I did while mingling at the reception). I already have my point and shoot Nikon camera charged and ready so hopefully I will bring back some pictures for you to share. I will write another post when I return. Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!
