The Allen Family
This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to get together with my friend Contessa and her family (her husband, Shelby; her son, Cameron; her daughter, Olivia). Contessa and I started at State Farm together almost 5 years ago. She’s moved on to another employer now and I don’t get to see her very often, so it was nice to get to spend time with her. I do have to say we could have picked a better day though. It was about 50 degrees on Tuesday when we were out and I was really cold. Little Olivia was shivering. That’s the other great thing about getting to see Tess and her family. I actually helped Tess name her daughter, Olivia Paige, and got to hold the baby when she was brand new. She’s grown so much since I last saw her! Anyway, it was so cold outside on Tuesday that my battery died after only 25 minutes of shooting…VERY FRUSTRATING! So, we are going to get back together on Sunday afternoon for me to finish what I started. Here are the pictures I got on Tuesday. As you can see, Cameron and I had a good time…Olivia not so much. Come back after Sunday to see the latest and greatest!
Pictures and Life
Well, in my last post I promised some pictures of our Colorado trip as well as some pictures of Ty’s birthday. So here they are! I am also going to add some from an April 2008 work trip I took to Lexington, Kentucky. We visited Shaker Town while there and that’s where the pictures were taken.
Matt and I are doing good. My long time friend Sarah Beth is getting married next May, Matt’s really good friend from high school, Dan, is also getting married in May of 2009. Both were in our wedding almost 2 years ago…I guess we started a trend! Matt had an interview today for a position in Johnson City, TN. We are still waiting to see what, if anything, develops from that. Our lives are fixing to get busier. We visited one set of my grandparents in Olive Branch, MS for the Labor Day holiday. Matt had a business trip right after that. He has two more trips scheduled. One at the end of September and one at the beginning of October. I will be going to see my Missouri grandparents at the end of September. We are hoping Matt will get to go, but we are afraid he will be between trips. Around the middle of October my sister and her husband and my parents will be coming to my house to celebrate my sister’s birthday on September 26th, Matt’s birthday on October 7th and my birthday on October 26th. Matt and I will celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary on October 21st. Then before we know it Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here. Whew! A lot more happens in our life, but it is mundane stuff like cooking, cleaning, laundry, yard work, etc. Somehow, working 8 hours a day and then coming home to do all of that leads to a very busy, full life. We sure hope everyone’s having a good summer like we are!
